The Board of Governors are seeking an experienced and inspirational leader who will write the next chapter of the life of St Joseph’s College. Founded in 1855 St Joseph’s College has a long tradition of providing an excellent education for the children and young people of South East London many of whom have moved on to be highly successful in diverse careers. The College is a Lasallian Catholic College in the tradition and charism of the De La Salle Order where every individual is encouraged to grow as a person living out the College’s five respects: Respect for Faith; Respect for Learning; Respect for Others; Respect for Community & College; Respect for Self. You will be a committed and practising Catholic with a strong personal faith who will encourage all members of the community to live out our vision and have the proven ability to confidently lead our inclusive and richly diverse College community. You will have:


  • a proven track record of sustained improvement and senior leadership experience in a secondary school.
  • a belief in the power of education to transform lives.
  • the ability to lead curriculum development.
  • be able to build on existing strengths, recognise areas for development and identify strategies to move these areas for development forward.
  • a commitment to evidence based high quality teaching and learning.
  • the creativity and vision to inspire and lead change and the focus to ensure successful outcomes are achieved.
  • a clear and committed strategic vision, combined with highly effective communication skills that will inspire, motivate and lead all key stakeholders.
